I dont think the threads are bad but the screw wont seem to catch, ive tried multiple angles and still nothing .. is this commen? i got the rack from napa ..

they can be tricky, it should thread, it's possible the rack threads or your hose threading are damaged and preventing them form engaging

and be sure to use only ATF once you get it hooked up

(Took it back thread was bad)

got another remanufactured one from oreilly's and that one worked fine bolted everything up with brand new outer tie rod ends & bushings

put ATF fluid and filled the sucker up turned from lock to lock a few times

Aligned the car, is it recomended for the toe on the front to be 0.9 ?

After my first drive the rack feels way too sensitive, is this normal ? is there a break in period for a new rack and pinion ?

Alignment specs are on the back of the factory service manuals. Also, I believe they are in the Haynes manual.

What do you mean by "sensitive"? You can easily turn the wheel? The car starts turning with very little input?

i mean the steering is way too sensitive while driving. I turn the car a hair to the left or right and the whole car shifts within a second

What size tires are you running?

I would guess the alignment (specifically, the toe) is set wrong.

im running the Z32 stock wheels with 20/55.16 all around

some guy in my class told me that these things dont need that much toe the alignment rack called for .9 we put it at like .4 or .5

but i did just change the rack and outter rods today maybe they need some time to break in ?

20/55.16 is not a valid tire size.

0.9 what? degrees? inches? millimeters? **** hairs?

You really should learn to read a manual. Never trust those stupid machines to give you the factory settings. Look them up yourself. 0.9 isn't a number anywhere between any of the dimensions as prescribed by the factory service manual.

toe out front makes for faster sharper turn in, not sure what the factry spec is but most likely it's a bit of toe in, I guess you just got used to the sloppy steering, I suspecct you'll get used to a car that steers as it should

20/55/16 isn't a valid tire size either. Do you mean 205/55/16 maybe? Do you think you could look at your tires to see what the real tire size is?

On Z32 wheels, you really should be running 225/50/16 anyway. That's also the stock Z31 turbo tire size.

0.9 degrees is HUGE!

Fine. Since you aren't going to help yourself, here's the answer.* 1 to 3 millimeters* 0.04 to 0.12 inches* 6 to 17 minutes* 0.1 to 0.2833 degrees

Do yourself a favor. Download a factory service manual here:http://www.xenonz31.com

READ IT!
