1988 pathfinder engine swap question

i want to throw a newer engine and transmission in my 88 pathfinder preferably a vg30e or maybe a turbo diesel could anyone tell me what they know about doing this and if those engines will fit in with little to no modifications

I assume you have a vg30i in there now? The pathfinder did come with a vg30e in the later model. It would be a direct fit but you would need the ecm and engine harness to do it.
