okay so I own a 1988 Nissan Stanza sedan I want to swap a motor into it other than their current stock motor that I have in there now witch is a ca20E and as far as I know there is very little or no mods available for that engine however I have a couple of ideas please let me know if the following: will fit easily or if I need to do any custom work or fitting. possible swaps are ca18de or ca18det or one of the ka24 motors.any help would be greatly appreciated I want to do something different and unique I would like to have a nice little sleeper that would shock the world lol.

Are you wanting to retain the stock EMS, or go with a standalone?

Hey, im not too familiar with the 88' Stanza but i own and drive a 92' Stanza XE. The powerplant is a KA24E motor like what youre looking for. I can honestly say its a nice strong motor to go with, but they are notorious for burning oil. As far as mods go, there arent too many out there and almost impossible to find. I know a few websites that sell camshaft upgrades but thats about it. The single cam motor wasnt built to be a performance motor. What ive got on my KA24E is: air intake, exhaust, clutch, flywheel, and LSD 5 speed transmission. If i had to guess im probably only pushing about 150ish horsepower to the wheels. I have over 261,000miles on it and its still kicking

CA18DE(T) will bolt right in place of the old CA20, even use the original CA20 transaxle... I'd say that would be the easiest option.

I used to have an 87 Stanza Wagon, weird car, but it was awesome... I was planning on doing an AWD CA18DET swap on it (they offered the wagon with 4WD), but then I wrecked it and got an 87 200SX to replace it.
