Sup all. Here is the things, there is a 1988 Audi Quattro 5000 CS Turbo, 5 speed, power everything and clean title, that I saw in a towing company for really cheap. Now the thing I wanted to know is how reliable are they or what to look out for? The vehicle sounds good and looks like all gears work, it kind of sounds like a diesel engine, but I guess that is how Straight 5 Engines sound. The only bad thing about is that it has 445,000 miles. I just need another car to drive, while I modify my S14. Just let me know what you guys think. Thanks.
Here is what it looks like (Not the actual car):

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!

My best friend has an '85 Coupe GT and I LOVE THAT CAR. Anything I5 from Audi around that timeframe is win in my book. Those things are so easy to rebuild it's ridiculous. Another cool thing about it is it's a inline mounted engine, but is front wheel drive. Blew my mind when he told me it was FWD.

I assume since it's sitting at a towing company it needs some significant repair. They were not cheap cars, and if it sounds like a diesel, I'd pass on it. With so many miles, I wouldn't spend much on it. The I5's were durable motors in their day, but only when maintained well. The 5000 was a well made upscale car though what made it famous was the "unintended acceleration" problem in automatic transmission equipped models. Similar to what you've read recently about Toyota. Lotsa negative press when people complained after accidents, but almost no coverage when NHTSA determined the majority were driver error, The negative publicity almost killed the 5000 despite finding nothing wrong.

Bingo. Like Ace2cool said, if they are easy to repair, hell why not. But today I will take a detail look on it and see if I can test drive it.
