I have a red 1988 300zx garage kept since new. It has about 50,000 mile on it ( the reason I don't know is because it has been at the garage since June). The car was running fine until one night it seem to have a little miss in it. When I started it the next day it was hard to keep it running until it warmed up. I drove it 5 miles to the garage and when they tried to pull it in later that day it did the same thing. My mechanic (who is very good) is stumped!!!! He has replaced the ECM, checked and replaced the fuel pump and air flow meter. He sent it to the local Nissian Dealer and they troubleshot it for 6 hours, replaced ignition wires, dist. cap and rotor (507.00). It is no better! Can anyone help or direct me someone who can fix it. Harrisburg Pennsylvania area.

FICV? IAV? you said it's runs ok once warmed up, so it would be an air fuel issue, why is it running poorly till then, is it running too rich? or too lean?

I am told when the carburator is injected with cleaner it will run better while it is being spayed, so it seems like a fuel problem. When the car is warmed up it still runs inconsistant, sometimes when you accellerate, it falll flat on its face.

uh... you don't have a carburator.....

and if you're spraying carb cleaner in it I hope you are spraying it in past the MAS, the chemicals in carb cleaner can kill your MAS

back on track, take a good look at the maf connector, make sure it's clean and free of moisture and debris

Check the headlight fluid next, or maybe it's the flux capistor

Sorry I couldn't resist.

Thanks for the reply, I am not sure on fuel injection cars, so I apoligize for this wrong information that I am getting, but I am very frustrated, and don't know which way to turn.
