Can anyone give me information on a 1988 200SX S12? I am looking into one and i want to know if its rear wheel drive and some other general information about it. like what type of engine. i know the S12 is apart of the silvia line but if its a 200SX S12 does that mean its a real silvia? thats for whoever can help me out with this information.

i used to have one. they are FR - is it coupe or hatchback? coupe only comes w/ CA20E (a really crappy motor), while the hatches come w/ both the VG30E (pretty decent motor, but not enough room for crossover pipe to make the Z31 VG30ET out of it) and they also come w/ the CA18ET. Most S12 enthusiests have the later hatch model, and it's about an even split between turbo and VG's. the coupe body style has grown on me, but the hatches come w/ some really neat options like bad*** digital dash (somewhat similar to Z31 digi dashes). All in all, 200hp seems to be about the ceiling on the car, obtainable w/ either the NA or turbo motor. They're neat little cars and pretty light - if u could squeeze ~200hp out of it, i'll bet it'd be a fun little drift car. i was even able to get my crappy CA20E S12 to go sideways countless times. a sr20 or ca18det swap would be awesome and pretty unique - they're one of the many old school, often overlooked potential nissan performers.

hah, take that skwerel, beat your *** to it.

they came with the CA20E, CA18et and the VG30e

fun cars, they're an S chassis, so they're rear wheel drive and most have IRS and 4 wheel disc too, the '88 model should have both.

the SR20 is a fairly easy swap if I remember right
