I have a friend that brought a 1986 300zx to my auto shop class to change the valve cover gaskets he have to remove alot of stuff to get to the driver's sige valve gasket anyways all was done we finished changing the valve cover gaskets and now it wont start. The engine spins and the is spark but it doesn't start all the way. And the security light on the gauge cluster keeps on blinking. Could it be the factory security system? and so does anybody know how to disable it or know why it wont start up? Or maybe some links about old *** 300zx's.

pull the fuse for the anti-theft in the kickpanel. see if that helps, could be the starter kill going haywire.

you could also pull the security relay.... unless thats what he meant
