I just bought my 86 720 4x4 (not a Hard body), and I've been working on getting the lights all working. I just replaced the LF12 turn signal flasher - and apparently it's just for the RH signals...because there is a CF124 flasher switch right beside it.

Did they actually use one flasher for each side of the truck???

According to the Chilton WD, one should be turn and one should be hazard. The hazard should have L/R in, R/L out. The turn should have Y/R in, G out. They both run through the hazard switch before going to the directional stalk. Here's the Chilton, they don't show the switch throws but it should be way better than nothing.
