1986 6 cyl 3.0 litre Pickup Oil Pressure gauge?

Seller of this vehicle tells me that the oil pressure sensoris faulty on these engines and that he's replaced it several timesand that is why the oil pressure reads 30 psi.

Is this so?If it is, is there an aftermarket sensor/gauge set up that works better?
