I recently purchased an 86 300zx runs great but the digital dash and lights don't work. The previous owner said it was the fusible link in front of the battery but it looks fine! Can i bypass it? Any helpful input would be greatly appreciated!

The fusible links are int he little black box next to your battery. If you digital dash does not work it is likely the power supply which is under the dash. http://www.xenonz31.com/DigitalDashRepair.html

Have you checked the ecu for codes? Have you verified fuel pressure? Dieing off idle is usually either a bad fuel pump, or bad MAS. Could also be spark related, bad CAS, plugs, wires, cap, rotor button. If it works better when cold the CHTS would be suspect.
