1986 300zx stereo question

Ok so i just bought a 1986 300zx, very clean with no rust and only 60,000 miles on it and the only thing wrong with it is that the stereo doesn't work. I have searched and found nothing, so if anyone can help me out as to where to start, I'd really appreciate it. Also has anyone put an aftermarket stereo in an '86, is it possible? I might just end up doing that if possible, thanks.

If you go over to z31.com, they have MANY MANY things archived about the z31. Yes it is just as easy to install a system into a z31 as it is any other vehicle. Just gotta buy the little deck trim panel piece or make one yourself.

Ok I'll check that out, but yeah i just kinda wanna put my stereo in it, so i might just end up doing that. thanks.

Does anyone know if there is a wiring harness that is made for a z31? I bought one and it has two harnesses that i connect to my aftermarket cd player but they dont hook up to the ends that hooked up to my radio. Does this mean that i am going to have to run new wires from the headunit to every speaker? I do have the voice warning system so does that mean that i will likely have the amplifier under my passenger seat?

I would REALLY appreciate any help.PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! (yes i have searched)

yes they make a harness, you cna buy them from any decent car audio shop, even best buy, circuit city etc, crutchfield.com is also an excellent resource
