My 1986 300zx was accidentally jump started with the cable hooked up backwards after which, none of the electronics worked. I swapped out the fusible link with the black wire and now all of the electronics work and the car starts right up but dies 3 seconds later. If I hit the gas pedal in the short time it is running it dies immediately. In addition to swapping the fusibloe link, I have also replaced the battery.

Any ideas what the problem might be and how I could fix it?

TIA

Since the cables were hooked up backwards long enough to burn the fuse link, you probably cooked the ECU. Does the check engine light work?
Also, be sure and check ALL the fuses!

I can't remember if the check engine light works, I'll check this afternoon.

Is there a secondary fuse box hidden somewhere that I might have missed?

Thanks

There is one inside the car behind the driver side kick panel.

Yeah, I checked all the fuses there.

How much should I expect to pay for a new ECU?

You can probably pick up a used one for a $100 or less.
