1985 z24 motor dies...

Hi all,

New to the forum, just recently puchased a 1985 nissan 720 king cab with the z24 motor. Have had a few issues with vacumm leaks that i have resolved. The other day i was driving and ity died, got it home and looking at it i have power in both coils. SO when trying to start it will turn over but not fire, if i unplug one of the coils it fires right up. I plug it back in an remove the wire from the other coil and it fires up. I am not super mechanically inclined and this is really stumping me. Anybody familiar with this problem or know what is wrong?? Any advicew would be greatly appreciated
