Hello:
I am the 2nd owner of this car w/ 18,000 original miles. The back of the driver's seat does not adjust for a position. The seat back is either all the way folded forward like a sideways V or all the way back. I took the seat out (disconnected the electrical plug) & brought it to my mechanic who has not made any progress with the fix. Can't find parts at Nissan Dealership & I'm tempted to unbolt the mechanicals on the side of the seat to do forensics. Anyone know where I can buy parts for the seat? It was weird, one day I open the door & the seat is all the way back.

Sorry, wish I could help with this, but I'm not very experienced with the Z31. You've posted in the Z32 section, but no worries, I'll move it for you.

That is an odd issue. Never heard of anything like that, I assume we are talking about a power actuated seat? And I'll assume youve checked fuses and verified voltage. With such low miles, I would assume something just dried up and seized. Could also be in the switches. Either way you're just gonna have to dissect clean and lube as you go.

This is probably the switch, those go bad. I cannot use my up and down anymore but the others work fine. THere is a site that sells used parts that are verified as good. do a google search on z31 parts you'll find the guy, he's in So Cal. I bet you can get a new switch pack for cheap and swap the whole thing out.
