the basic coil over setup will work up front but the z31's rear will require some enginuity, the only ones I've seen looked unsafe, if there is enough clearance in the upper rear shock mount you might be able to drain the shock weld sleeve stops to the body of a rebuildable koni, ads, penske etc.

As of yet, no company makes a bolt in kit. The only ones that will work are pieced together swapping out various suspension components from an S13/S14. There is talks of a company making some shortly.

I've been considering a Q45 IRS swap to get the cheap LSD, the swap I found (the blue one in chicago) using that rear for whatever reason extended his rear shock towers instead of running shorter shocks?

I believe you're refering to butter's car. And he used the S14 rear suspension. I don't believe there is much difference in the majority of the Nissan suspensions of that time other than overall dimensions. I believe the S14 rear coilovers were significantly longer than the S13 or Z32 coilovers and that's what he already had.

It is my understanding that the same basic IRS was found in (at least):S13S14S15Z32R32R33R34

and now you mention the Q45. Not too surprising.

and the j30, although the Z32 used alumnum lower arms to reduce weight, and now I might have a lead on a Z32 IRS, but yeah butters taht sounds right, I figure order the shocks diminsionally and avoid the issue he had

I would avoid the Z32 IRS as it is significantly wider than the S13/S14 rear. You'll have to run very high offset wheels.

are they wider? I thought they were allt he same, I know the sx guys like to swap the aluminum arms in from the z32, but then the more offset the easier it is to find wheel to fit I could run cobra whels with no spacers maybe

The first person to swap a different rear end like this onto a Z31 was Ken. He used a Z32 NA rear suspension. When he used the stock Z32 wheels with cheater slicks, the tires would hit the fender lips. No amount of fender rolling/pulling would have helped. The pictures I've seen of the S14 suspension make it appear much narrower.

I'm not sure what the actual differences are, but if you could get ahold of some of the FSMs for the applied models, you could check the specs.
