I am trying to address the rear camber issue in my 1984 Z31. Does anyone have a recommended fix? There seems to be a lot of random opinions on the web, looking for some clarity.

Thanks,
Devin

Have you replaced the shocks and springs already? That solves most of the problems, there are camber plates out there but after I put the Eibach springs and KYB shocks I had a little negative camber but not enough to wear out tires.

These cars have a semi trailing arm rear suspension with terrible geometry, the lower the car is the more camber and toe you gain. Fresh shocks and springs will restore the original ride heights but the oe rates are pretty soft. Many people slot the holes in the crossmember to allow for some level of adjustability but that's pretty limited. The 510 uses esentially the same irs setup and there is a small outfit making adjuters for them http://www.futofab.com/index.php?option ... &Itemid=22 May or may not work as the bushing size might differ but if you are up to the fab work you could replicate these or modify a set

Thank you for the info, I will check into the fabrication portion.

Fun fact, this suspension was originally used on the datsun 510,610 and 810 before being used on the 280zx and then the z31. It's also the same basic design as BMW E30 and E36's although they had better geometry and more adjustability.
