Love it! Get a 4x4 and have fun w/ it. here is a sad pic of my truck about to drive it into the garage and tear it down top to bottom... if you have any questions ask.

Your truck looks great. I'm picking up the exact same truck this Saturday in Winslow. It needs engine work and I was wondering, what would be involved in putting in an 87 Z24i instead of rebuilding the carb version. Any real reason not to do this. I have an 86.5 4x2 with the z24i and it has been very dependable.

No reason not to do it. The motor will bolt in, but you will need the ECU and wiring harness from the donor truck to make it all work, and you'll need a high pressure fuel pump as well for an EFI truck.

And guess what I'm trying to sell off of my truck! The only thing missing is the wiring harness and intake manifold, got everything else, though.

I know, just when I saw it was edited and said "delayed response," I thought as I hit the post button "Oh, crap, I bet a newbie brought a dead thread back to life." Should have listened to my instincts.
