O.K. here it is, I have a first generation nissan maxima. I am busy trying to bring it back to life. I got it running very good. and I have the suspension picked out. but here is my question, does anybody know where i can get the complete polyeurathane bushing set for the car. Or any information would be great give a guy some help that wants to bring back the maxima with right way drive. thanks

I can't think of any urethane kits out there for that model... though, I wouldn't be surprised if it shares some similarities between other Nissan's so you might be able to get various urethane parts from other cars.

Engine performance wise, being that it has the L24 should make it very easy to make some power. I bet you could build up the stock engine with 240Z parts or maybe even swap the L28ET into it... that would make for one fun Maxima.

Have any pictures of it? The original Maxima's seem to be a bit rare so I don't get to see them often.

hey thanks for the help. i am looking for those similarities as we speak. the suspension that I have picked out is actually for the 280zx since they are identical. I found a guy that has the sway bars front and rear. performance wise i have not done much to the engine yet. just freshened it up, but boy does it run good. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2901858 go to this link to see the car. remember it's a work in progress.

If it shares parts with the 280ZX I'd check out http://www.thezstore.com (www.motorsportauto.com). They have quite a few parts for the older Z's still.

Looks great! Definitely keep us updated on the mods, its nice to see an old Maxima in good shape.

They also have some good suspension parts there as well. I know they do carry polyurethane stuff for the 280ZX so that could be a good source.

I agree with you, that would definitely be one fun car to modify. Would be an awesome sleeper.

hey thanks for the complement. i was actually suprised that i found it. saving up for the body work now. can't wait to get it painted. i want to go ahead and get the car painted before i put on the exhaust. I think it would look funny to have a spankin exhaust system on a unfinished car but i might get weak.

Yeah, I've been looking for one (although rather casually) for a couple of years now and have had almost no luck. I found one that had been pretty well abused at a time when I didn't have the money to resurrect it so I passed it up. I wish I hadn't.

Looks like a fun project. Keep us posted on the progress!

My Maxima? If so, thanks! Sadly though, its dead. It got so rusted out in the rear that it was completely unsafe to drive. The base of the rear strut towers were rusting away from the frame of the car. Stupid salt from the winter likely

One of these days I may get another 3rd gen Maxima and built it up right like I was wanting to.

most likely i am gong to paint it back to original and remove the luggage rack. i found some 910 blue bird body kit parts in australia, that would fit perfectly. but its all about the money
