1984 Nissan/Datsun pickup 2wd Need Help!!

Hey I just bought this car not to long ago and the battery light will not turn off. The battery is brand new and i checked the alternator but it wasn't the problem because the alternator is fine. I posted a thread on datsun cars forum and someone said it might be the grounds. Any tips anything helps.

grounds might be a place to start... it might be a short somewhere as well

usually the battery light will come on like this when the battery is not receiving charge from the alt... doesn't necessarily mean the alt is bad... but something along the line is

Thanks for the help I'm starting to think that it is the grounds because there is also a lot of rust on the car.

You need to check the condition of the harness. With vehicles this age its most likely a crossed wire (short). Keep on truckin.
