1984 nissan 720 two dead coils no spark??

My son has a 1984 nissan with a z20 motor. We are getting no spark even after replacing both coils??? Any Ideas

Are you not getting spark from the coil wires or the plug wires? I have seen the center of the rotor burn through on those cause the spark to jump right to the shaft of the distributor. In some cases that burns up the module in the distributor.

It started running rough like it was out of time. We replaced all the plugs wires, and new cap and rotor. still nothing then replaced both coil and we check the spark on the plugs and the coils and not spark at all. Is there a way to test the distibutor?

Ahhh it started to crap out before the work. Check your grounds and make sure they are all clean and secure.
