1984 300xz shuts down

i recently became the owner of a 1984 300zx. the car sat for a few months i thinkk. the firse couple of weeks it ran great, now it has a hard time starting and will shut down and may instantly come alive again, sometimes not. does anyone have a ideas. thanks

check power to the rotary coupling, it might not be disengaging when i t should. resulting in a overvoltage situation near the coupling coil gurder seal. or try the 300zx forums.
