1983 Datsun Pick-Up w/ 2.4 Gas Engine?

While perusing on eBay about 1983 Nissan Pick-Up service books, I found one for the early 1983 Datsun (the last year the U.S.-spec trucks were marketed as such) and written by its original owner on the front cover is the VIN JN6FD06SXDW004953 and the engine type FA24E (2.4 liter gas engine).

The VIN breaks down as:
JN6 = Produced by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., Japan
F = Engine type - model KA24E
D = Truck (model 720)
0 = no change
6 = King Cab Truck
S = two-wheel-drive
X = check digit
D = model year - 1983
W = assembled in Kyushu, Japan
004953 = sequence number

While this book is for the 1983 Datsun pick-ups, the 2.4 liter gas engine wasn't available until mid-1983 and the subsequent change of name of the general truck make to "Nissan." The original owner must've been given the wrong book by his Datsun dealer at the time... he actually needed a "1983 Nissan Pick-Up" service manual for his truck.
