1983 datsun/ nissian 720 clutch switch

ok ive been asking around, the owner of my truck before, switched auto to a 5 speed, and he said the clutch switch needs to be hooked up, i found the neutral switch is on the side of the transmission, but the clutch switch i was told was under the dash ive found a foujr wire connecter, do these get wired togather??? i was told this is why it wont start, everthing is good just cant get it to crank
