Post

just got my first 720, she is a beast. Starts and run smooth. Changed all the fluids and lubricated the steering and trans axle.
Got the car for free... No power steering, no radio and no AC.

Anyways.
Is there a interval for replacing the timing chain

Or

Adjusting the tension

Or

Lubricating the chain, and what kind of oil to use?

Or

How would I know if the chain need to be tensioned?

Any help and advise is greatly appreciated.

I have already looked over many of the posts here, unfortunately the pictures are not visible as they are above bandwitch.

Your questions:
1. No
2. No
3. Its lubed by the engine oil
4. When it rattles, or slaps the timing cover.

Take the valve cover off and poke the chain with a long screwdriver and look for movement.
Its probably loose and stretched, but until they get real noisy I wouldn't worry about it.
Actually there are 3 positions that the cam gear can be installed in to restore the cam timing when the chain gets loose, but it a better idea to just replace it.
They will make the most noise on cold start up and after an oil change.
