Hello, I'm new here, and new to Datsuns. So, ever since I got my 720, it's run like crap. It misfires really bad until it warms up and anytime I make a sharp turn, and it has even less power than it should. Today I find that the carb (Hitachi) has the choke wire connector broken off, the fuel cutoff solenoid wire broken, some weird dangly extra throttle-ish lever at the back, and the vacuum diaphragm on the driver's side wasn't attached to anything. So I hooked everything up properly with some skillful soldering and baling wire, and now it barely runs at all, backfiring if I even touch the gas pedal. What can I do to make it stop being like that? This is my daily driver, I really need it to function properly and pass California smog!
