1982 Datsun 200 SX Mysterious Deceleration

Hello, I am at my wits end trying to figure why my Datsun 200 SX runs great in the San Francisco cold weather but when it becomes very hot outside it runs strange. By that I mean I will be driving along fine but then it mysteriously stops acceleration, complete flat spot, and I literally have to jump back on the accelerator.

The most recent work done on the car was to add a new catalytic converter and erg valve.

It is cool here most of the time but when it is hot I dread driving this classic.
