I need to know how to remove the handbrake cable from the back side of the caliper. Thanks for the other help.

with the tensoin reliaved form the cable pull the retainer clip at the cable stay that sticks out the back of the calliper, then back the cable out and the cable itself will fit through the slot on the bracket, then just swing the cable around and push the block at the end of the cable up out of the grove, it's pretty self explanitory when you look at it

I have a caliper w/brake cable attached, cable cut at equilizer. I have removed retaining clip and can't get the cable through the slot. Is the retaining clip just a metal shim?

you have to pull the cable housing back so that the cable itself can slide sideways out of the slot, if the cable is siezed and useless just cut it between the bracket and the pivot
