1981 Datsun 720 4x4 front axle conversion

My son is looking at a 1981 Datsun 720 with 4wd. However the front cv's are toast & parts not available.

Would a front end axle swap from a 1985 nissan 720 fit with minor modifications? Gear ratio?

I have found a donor truck & see more parts are available for that year.

Any suggestions or help would would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi. Is your son and you both looking for a 720 at this time? I may have one you'd be interested in. The suspension on this one feels pretty good. It's a driver - 82 Datsun/Nissan 720 KingCab 4x4. It starts up good; it could use some tlc with the engine or carb or both. It has newer alternator. Plus, brand new upper/lower ball joints in the box, new front/rear shocks in the box, new spark plugs in the box, and new transmission mount in the box. Power steering / no ac. Body has dings and surface rust. Temp gauge is not working.
