Hi, I have a chance to buy a 1981 nissan datsun 210 with a 1.5 engine. I do not know anything about these cars. This car had radator replaced and water pump after water pump bearing broke and fan took out radiator. after it was repaired it would not start but would come close to it. It is 600. but the last repair was almost 300. I would be greatful for any help. sounds like a good car for saving gas.Thanks

the A series is a pretty tough motor.

check for your basic fuel and spark, if it's ok, run a compression check.

These are fantastic cars; cheap to buy, easy to fix. I've owned three myself. The last one was a '79 that had 180K and still got close to 40mpg. Buy a manual and follow the trouble-shooting guides. These cars are simple. You'll have it up and running in no time.
