i bought the car, tail lights didn't work, i fixed the tail lights, then headlights didn't work. took wires from under steering wheel. friend, spliced some wires in the trunk...now both work. next day i try to start it...only a turn over..still not firing, not starting up. i look, oil is leaking out of coil ? i get new one, install it- not the problem. take it back put old one back on.

things i've testedspark plugs get spark, fuel injectors fuel is getting to the base there, fuel pump working..starter and battery are good...checked fuses, had a boat electrician look at it.still no luck. fuses are good...except 1 fuse blows alot. but it's not blown now. i;m thinking something with the coil...since oil was coming out of it. one thing i don't think was tried was coil wire looked at...but no visible cracks etc......(manual) it wouldn't push start either.please help. anyone have problems like this..

Cant immagine why oil is coming out of your COIL... all a coil is is a bunch of wires wrapped around something to increase your voltage from 12 volts to 30,000-40,000...

Maybe your timing is off, or you don't have enough compression or something.

i think some coils are filled with mineral oil, has something to do with insulating it. just like the transformers hanging on the telephone poles on your street. if its leaking it needs to be replaced.

Just want to add: Even if it is working. If it leaks Replace it. If it is still working, it won't for long.
