Hello all. I just purchased a 1980 Sunline Solaris Motorhome that is based on the Datsun 720 minitruck. See pic at this link:

Originally this vehicle came with 4 rear tires (dullys) However there was a recall on the vehicle that forced the removal of the two outer tires. This was due to the rear wheel bearings failing. (Link for recall below)

As you can see from my picture, the truck looks ridicules with the two outer wheels removed. It also is not very stable on the turns. Is there a direct bolt up axel that I can purchase that is WIDER than the original axel thereby pushing the wheels out to the outside of the camper cab.

Please do not recommend wheel spacers as these are not an acceptable solution due to the weight of the camper.

oh shizz There is one on craigs near me but I don't have $2995 for one.

Get wider wheels off a chevy.

You might ask in the nissan truck forum on NICO about Solid axel swaps and maybe there is a toyota rear that bolts up.

That is so sick! Love it.

You should try contacting the company that makes the "super single" wheels for duallys.

Its usually a rim thats 1*x10-12", and you just run a wider tread tire. They may be able to make you a set of rims.

Or you can just order some 15x10" diamond racing wheels and have the offset really low, and it will push the wheels out further.

looks like the rear springs are worn out (hence the squat) having dual wheels only increases the amount of weight capacity you can handle which the caper is not above the weight of a good single axle tire built for load. at this point (looking from the pic) dual rear wheels or a wider rear wheel will not fix your problem as the springs are not able to hold up the load anymore.

change springs, get a set of load range tires and drive happy.

anyone else have the black plastic for the middle two holes of the front bumper? I just noticed the sunline had them.

All I really want for x-mas is a front bumper that isn't bent. I'll worry about the cool inserts later.

Amazing! This is now on the dream car list. That interior is so bright and colorful. A nice change from most campers I've been in.

I hope it gets a lot of use this summer. I hope you will post some action pictures of camping.
