Hi! I am new to the forum. I just turned 18. I own an Acura Integra... but I have always liked 280ZX's. There is just something about them that I like.Anyway, I found one that I really like for sale near my house. It is black and it looks great. It has a blown gasket and 2 of the cylinders have 0 compression.

My question to yall is how much would it cost to fix this car? I dont know a whole lot about engine internal work. Also, if this (nonturbo) engine is NOT salvagable, what engine options are available for swap.

Should be salvageable the L28 runs forever. The biggest pain is going to be removin the intake and the exhaust manifold with out breaking anything(used to own a 280zx) Have the head mangafluxed and planed if needed put a new head gasket on and it should be good to run. Engine swaps you could put pretty much anything in there I have seen on Hybrid Z, RB,VG,SR motors and they a popular for V8 swaps.

good car to learn on. everything is fixable, parts not too hard to find(but getting that way), fairly easy to work on, etc. if you have another car to drive then i would say take that sucker apart(but dont overpay unless the body is cherry).
