1979 Datsun 280zx Hard starting, wont idle, what I should check?

Runs great on the road. Hard starting, wont idle, loads up. Starts well when its warmed up. Any suggestions as to what I should check? Thank you!!

You could check timing (cold vs warmed up) and clean up the carb I think. You could check your plug gaps. Make sure your filters aren't clogged. Hard to start as in fire up or hard to turn over as in the starter is struggling? If the latter, check battery, ground and alternator.
