1979 280zx price?

What is a 1979 280zx worth? It is all original except for some konig Rewinds or something like that. 56k original miles clean title. Engine runs strong. 5spd shifts smooth. Rust starting on bottom of rear quarters. Frame is good. Carpet is clean. Dash has one crack. Windshield is cracked. He is asking 2600 obo. I know theres not much with out pictures but I forgot to snap some while I was out there today.

sounds like a decent price, it varies greatly car to car area to area, but a good decent driver for $2600 doesn't sound like a bad deal

also there is no "frame" it's a unibody car, if there is rust at the bottom of the rear rockers I'd bet there si more in the floor pan behind the seats, also being a unibody car the rocers are a structural member, might not make the car fold up but definitely weakens it

Thanks for the info. I did not know they were unibody cars. I might take this one if I can get him to go down a little in price n if bot no big deal. I really want a 240z over anything so I might just save up some more and hold off for a decent 240z.

Hold off for an earlier car.

Also, as Dave said, rust in the rockers means big problems elsewhere 99% of the time. I'd be looking under the battery tray at the frame rail, up inside the strut towers, and at the floorboards for additional corrosion.

The 79 isn't exactly in high demand, and that price sounds steep to me despite the low miles. I'd rather have a 70-74 with 200K miles and no rust. THAT'S worth $2600 all day long.

Thanks, I have decided to pass on this car and wait it out and save some more for a nice 240z. Might as well get what I really want then being disappointed later. I have the 240sx to hold me off till then.
