the L28ET swap is the cheapest, easiest way to bg power, the RB of course will cost you and is a big pain to put in, lots of people run various N/A buildups, we had a high compression dyno 195 whp and 213 lbft at the wheel today, but he's got about 4k tied up in motor carbs header and exhaust, the good news is the car's are pretty light, the 240 shoud be 2600-2800 lbs bumopers and misc parts can be stripped getting that weight down to a better level, and just about every engine possible has been swapped in, SR20DET, RB's, small blocka nd big block V8's from all of the big 3, VH45's, VG's, rotary's, it's all been done hybridz.org for just about any mod you can think of
as for suspension and brakes it just depends on what you want to do with the car, tokiko's with ST springs and MSA swap bars is pretty popular street performer, full on coil overs from modernmotorsports or arizona z cars, and there was just a thread discussing brake upgrades on the S30's so I'll spare you me repeating rant
