1977 280Z Headlight Replacement

The entire city is overrun by like 20 orielly's and no other auto parts store, and they dont seem to believe in stocking a haynes or chiltons manual, i ordered one yesterday but on the drive home tonight, i realized the significance of good headlights, as opposed to one blown and one dim headlight, anyone care to give me a how to on replacement???

Per the FSM for the 240Z, should be similar for the 280.

you can go to the xenon site and download a FSM and a Owners manual for your car free. and they have a bunch of classic Z car parts.

Thanks for the help, I really wish I would have found that xenon site before I ordered the chiltons/haynes manual, now I feel bad for the evil auto parts store oeiellys cuz I'm not gonna pick it up now ( insert maniacal laugh here)

Get the manual if it is a Haynes. I got a Chilton with my 73 and it is crap, and though I haven't got a Haynes for the S30, if it's anything like the Z31 book it's a LOT better. The Haynes walks you through stuff more than the FSM does so it's good to have both references. Plus, unless you want to print out the FSM, you might end up running in the house every 10-20 minutes to check s*** (like I do when the Haynes is "on vacation"). And that usually ends up being a bad idea for your carpet. My carpet is white, I know what that can lead to unfortunately.

i have a haynes and the only problen with it is the coverage. it is supposed to cover all s30s. but it barely touches a 280z. i tried to download the fsm but it never would work after the download. i tried it 3 times.

the headlight go in the same way on all S30's, and fwiw, you cna pull off the headlight bucket and replace the bulds that was as well, wiehter way is much fun but not terribly difficult either
