Why swap? You got the A-type engine, right?

I'm sorry i'm not the least bit mechanically savvy so i'm not sure but its rusted and in not to good of shape. I mean it does run but i would just like a swap...plus it has over 270k on it.

Are you saying the engine is looking bad, or is the whole car rusty?

I would recommend not proceeding at all. Get a reliable car and save your money and time.

well the only reason I was considering it was because the labor would be free. And the car was only $500

No such thing as free. It might not seem like it, but everything imparts cost if not money on the front end, time, which could equate to money and/or peace of mind on the back end. You could wind up sinking $1500 into that "cheap" car trying to get it done then how much of a bargain did you get?

If it runs now, do a compression check, look for and correct fluid leaks, suspect hoses, belts, tires and brakes, change the oil and filter, flush the cooling system, give it a basic tuneup and drive the lil fella. ;)

Agreed... A swap is not going to be easy, and not well documented on a B210 most likely..... Even if you went with something "straight forward" like a KA, CA, or SR, it's still gonna be a lot of doing.. Mounting the engine is only half the battle, then you have all the other stuff like driveshaft, electrical, power steering, AC (if you want that).. It's all the little things that add up and make it a real PITA.

Just for comparison, when I had someone swap a 5-speed into my Q (long story), he had probably close to 180 hours over two weeks doing the swap.

You guys aren't being creative enough. If he has free labor, I vote L28T, LMAO!!! You might have to knock out the firewall or remove the core support, but it's doable.

The CA is a popular swap for 510's in Australia. Even with minor bolt-on getting you to 200hp, they're pretty insane.

So, you need variable valve timing and DOHC four valve heads to make 100hp per liter with modern computer controls? Cute.

L-gata ain't got time fo dat!

When was that mileage annotated on the title? You know it's at least 315813. Pretty tough little engine.
