i havn't posted on nico in a while. so it's time to come to the datsun forum with my new progect. it a 74 620 i got for $100. completly stock{with ac and no radio from factory!} except some bucket seats. just a bad carb, only problem with it. it is the L18 motor with 4-speed. i want to make some power from this, since i don't need emmisions. any suggestions? since pics i removed the trim, and rear bumber. and i have been buffing it alot. paint is starting to shine nicely. plan on getting the carb sorted out, painting the wheels and grill black, and rebuffing the chrome caps and bumper.and i'm going to lower it at least 3 inches. then i will start trying to get some power with carb uprades{suggestions?} 5-speed and then a rebuild with stonger internals, if neccesary, or if i just get some extra cash.here are the picsold add on a/c and lack of radio. 33 years and no one put in a radio! possible idea, but i think i want old scool white wall, crome moon cap look instead. plus the 18" would just slow me down!

Very nice!

Congrats on the find and good work thus far. I've got a 71 521 pickup and love it. Old datsun pickup trucks are where its at.

damn dude, 100?

I assume still runs...it is an L afterall...doesn't look to rusty either. nice.

how much power do you want and how much are you willing to spend?

if you don't mind shelling out a little, a dual sidedraft set up would be sweet.

Sidedrafts would be sweet, also someone here is putting a SR20 into a 521, might be worth looking into if you want to have it extensively modded.

i got a great deal on it. i would have paid 500 probelly! the only thing wrong is the carb spits out the gas. that rust spot on the lower driver's fender is all there is. frame is solid and floor pans have no rust. i am thinking about eventually doing some side drafts. any opinions on certain brands/types? i def. want to stick with the l-series motors, just to have that old school flavor thoughout.
