Hey there guys!I have been a member on these forums for a couple years now, and absolutely love it! Unfortunately, in the past I have not been able to spend much time in the Classic Z part of the site. I have always been in the 240sx gen/vert, I30/I35, G20, and the Nissan Truck forums.

However, about 5 months ago my mentor/boss/good friend acquired a 1970 240z from a local dealership.

When I found out he got it I was probably more stoked about it then he was. He has always been a Jaguar guy, and I never thought he would cross the dark line over to imports! LOL.

Our plans right now are to get the car into driving condition and cruise for the remainder of the year, and completely restore the car while the snow is flying!

Here's a couple pictures of it!

wow, look at the size of those flares! and how small the wheels and tires are

it's kinda funny they added headlight covers which make the crappy headlights worse, then cut the bumper tp add 3 more light, not 2, 3!

if it's a 70 model then it's a series 1 chassis, check the vin it shoudl be lower than 18000

I'll check the VIN tomorrow after work!

The giant lights are crazy! I love the aggressive look they give though. They will not be going anywhere! I won't let him remove them!!!

The wheels are not for sale. I do believe Eric (Owner) wants to keep all the original parts for it. Sorry!

Just wait till we get some rear end pictures up! It is truly unique.

SO DAMN COOL!!!

I absolutely love it - Looks like Lee Majors and Farrah Fawcett should pop out of it, it's TOTALLY 70's period-correct.

I don't believe there is much bondo on the back. It is all metal. Seems like a damn good fabricator put it together.

Link to your mazda?

looks like your bandwidth was exceeded!? all metal? even the spoiler? the flares? the tail panel? the hatch vents? VB used to sell metal bubble flares but those are smoothes in quite a but I suspect they used a fair bit of filler to blend, if nto they were great with metal

as for the maxda, it was my car, the current owner is selling it, I was the one that put the for 2.3 turbo in it, which I believe by the way will fot a 5.0 as well http://502streetscene.net/foru...41371

Then you'd be wrong twice - It's not only a SSS, it's mine.

All you have to do is open the hood to verify.

And that pic is NOT Datsun 411 taillights. In fact, I'm pretty sure those aren't Datsun at all. They're freakin' ugly.

Sweet pickup--- I have a very simlar datsun--- in that Its completely molded, widebody, custom tails, and a wild shifter. I have to say though its so funny how similar you and I started out....

1. Far too many headlights up front2. Horrible offset wheels3. Cow/bull themed shifter4. custom taillights5. molded flares

we musta picked em up from the same owner....

Anyway- good luck with the build-- Ive had a blast with mine. Look forward to following it

Thanks!

I went ahead and upgraded my photobucket account. Eric was very upset when he opened his web browser to find the pictures were not showing.

And on another note, OUR SUSPENSION CAME IN!!!

We got Tokico Illuminas all the way around with Tokico springs.

They will be installed as soon as we get a break from work! Pictures shortly!

Are you serious? Those wheels ROCK!

Although, I kinda see what you're getting at - the flares DO make them look sunken... Never mind me, I'm rambling.

Question for you greg...or even everyone

Do you think we should keep old school style with the wheels? Options could be keeping the stock, adding some spacers to the stock, or getting some old school deep dish wheels?

OR.Do we go new school with a set of 17 or 18" Work wheels or something along those lines? Again with low offsets obviously.

Definitely stay old-school.

I'd keep an eye out for some real wide old 15's.

I'm putting the Rota RB (17x9.5) on our S30... should retain the period-correct look.

panasports = timeless

but you got your widths wrong, looks like 9's and 11's, the correct width is measured inside bead to inside bead, you are advertising the over all outside to outside meansurment which si incorrect

Yeah I'd have to agree. Nothing smaller then that....least to fill those flares.
