I'm in Seattle soon for work, looking at the usual list of cars I might buy on a biz trip and drive home were they a fantastic enough deal.

http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/rds/c ... 07263.html

ad is a little confusing says rebuilt original numbers matching motor included, later says what you see is what you get no picture of this rebuilt motor.

I have no relation to this ad thought it would make a great NICO car

Not worth what I'm assuming would be a nightmare to get it back across the border.

I can cross it for you I cross cars all the time using my company in the US and Livingston in Canadia. That would be the very LEAST of your problems.

It looks pretty straight to me, obvious weldin repair on driver floor and transmission tunnel, I wonder what it looks like under all that "epoxy primer"

It needs what, rewire and interior, doors, hood, grill, hatch... doner Z for $1000 might get you all the missing bits. Assume it comes with rebuilt drive train, $2000 for paint and $2000 for what ifs you could have a very nice #138 Z for just under $10,000 :rotfl

Double that number and you'll be closer. plus, where are you going to find a "Doner"? some parts are unique to the '69 iirc.

Not sure. MAYBE $2K? I'd really have to see it up close and be able to make a list of what it needs. I can tell you I wouldn't buy it for $3500 though. If you want to put it back original (which should be the motivation for a matching #s car) and you don't have access to those "one-of-a-kind" parts, there might not be a 'good deal' price. Plus, it looks like there has been a lot of patchwork done and that the cancer has done a lot of damage. You might end up with more American steel than Japanese steel in it when it's over and done. Some people will throw a lot of good money at a bad project just to have a "piece of history" and they don't care what the price is. You can spend stupid money on a non-'69 Z. Good parts and OEM parts are rare and crazy expensive. For example, an original set of pristine door panels for an S30 can easily set you back $700-$800. DOOR PANELS. Freaking ridiculous.

Good info, I decided in a junkyard about 3 years ago that when I purchase a 240Z it will be running well enough to drive it home. I do really get excited about the low number cars because of the history. I have a professional office at work and there are two toys in it, a P-51 mustang and a orange 240z.
