Hi Nigeboxer,
Yes there is a market for these guys. One sold for 55,000 USD (that's the highest I've seen). 10,000 to 25,000 USD for pristine. 7,000 to 12,000 USD for very good shape. 5,000 to 10,000 USD for good shape.
Do you have any pictures? Exterior, interior, engine compartment?
For parts there are some cross references to 60's Brit as the car is modeled after a Healey with some XKE mixed in. The quad calipers on the front are identical to XKE, original drive train (R series engine) shares many parts with healeys.
If the drive train is upped to a 2.4 with 5 spd, which engine is that (manufacturer, year).
If it is in fantastic condition, 9,000 pounds = roughly 14,000 USD and that's not too bad at all. That falls into the ranges I noted above. The roadsters are going up in value as well. 25 years ago you could snap them up for 1,000 to 1,500 USD for a 1600cc, 2,500 to 5,000 for a 2000cc. Those days are long gone. A fixer upper is 2,500 to 4,000 usd.
I've had 5 of these cars over the past 25 years, they're very addictive.
Post a few pics if you can and I can give my 2 bits on the car.
