Would anyone happen to know how a factory sway bar on said car attaches?

Over the weekend me and some friends installed new springs/shocks/swaybars on her 'stang, but ran out of time before I could figure out how the rear sway attaches. The instructions provided with the kit don't help much. It says the bar would be mounted behind the rear axle, with the arms pointing forward. I tried this, and the sway bar intersected the gas tank. So I flipped the bar around, in front of the axle, arms pointing backwards. It will fit in this way, and not hit anything. But now I can't get a good angle on the arms with the link comming up from the axle.

well...I'm guessing it didn't have one stock? Talk to mustangs unlimited (here in GA) they can tell you how to bolt it up.

I redid a mustang suspension on a 68 convertible, but that one -had- all the factory stuff, nothing aftermarket, so it was remove and replace...to the tune of 3700 dollars (I upgraded a -lot-)...

New leaf springs?

I ran Koni Orange with American Racing with Torq Thrus D wheels and Pirelli Cinturato CN72 205/75-14, if I remember. First radial tires I ever owned. Don't remember doing anything about roll bars, but Addco might have made one. Handled pretty good, even when compared to my friend's 68 Corvette convertible.

Personally, I never want to go back to cast iron solid rear axles. It often strikes me that the new Mustang would have been a terrific car in '69-'71.

Yeah, new leaf springs as well.

Leaf springs weigh a ton.
