Was wondering what this is and what it is used for. Looks like something to do with the brakes. I have filled it with brake fluid, done a complete front and back overhaul and the level remains the same. Is it plugged? Is it a safety reservoir?

It looks like you have a 1600 and mine is a 2000 so things are a little difrent but I'm pretty sure that's your cluch master cylinder.

I have removed both and am in the process of honing them or getting them resleaved. Has anybody used a honer to hone them or deglase them? Is it doable? They don't leak but I thought I would give them a complete overhaul.

Honing Aluminum is tricky, you might get new ones. http://www.datsunparts.com/ Dean has the good stuff.
