1967 411 SSS Wagon Production figures?

The quirky and versatile Datsun 410 and 411 series sedans and wagons laid the groundwork for the 510.

Anybody know how many 67 411 wagons with the SSS package were produced? Or any other figures like how many sold in the US, etc. I am looking at one and the guy says that there are only 10 in existence, and I am wondering if the is any validity in his claim or if he is just snatching numbers out of the atmosphere.

Also, is there a site that gives techical specs, what equipment I should look for on the car beyond the SSS emblem, etc. I know that SSS cars of that year are supposed to have two carburetors as opposed to one, and that they came with both manual and automatic transmissions. Some of my searching has indicated that SSS cars had independent rear suspensions as opposed to live (straight) rear axles in the ordinary 411s but I don't know if this is for all years (I think they were made 66 to 68) or just some years, or if the wagons had independent or live axle rear suspensions.

Any info here would be a massive help in deciding whether to buy this puppy or not. I have not seen it yet, just talked to guy over the phone, but I am going today to look it over.

Thanks!!!!

Its a dead topic but good to have for info:

- Difference is it has the R16 Roadster dual carb motor instead of the J13, anything else specific?

NO RL411 or WRL411 were made with IRS, they all had the standard Hotchkis axle. If this unit has an IRS, it was cobbled in by some amature
and you would be buying trouble. The "SSS" emblem was not applied to all RL411 or WRL411. Mine has the standard "1600" series on the front and trunk' I believe with no proof that the "SSS" was applied to those competition ready units with the optional ratio rear ends. Or the dealer ordered some from the parts catalog and added to the sales price.

The 411 parts catalog is available on this site. The RL411 and WRL411 parts listings are in the very last section of the catalog, so happy rowing.

And the RL411 and WRL411 had front disc brakes inspired by the still in development 510s but different in small details.
