That truck has been on there twice. What I'm seeing looks good as far as the body goes. Hope your bed is good, I spent a fortune on mine. The brakes shouldn't be a big deal. Keep us posted on your progress and switch to burbon, Ezera Brooks black, and use it only to celebrate fixes on your truck! Course you could always carry a bottle with you and when the truck hits multiples on the speedo stop and celebrate! 55,555;66,666;77,777............ Had an old econoline pickup I did that with and she lasted forever! Welcome aboard Zendog. Ken

I recall seeing that truck on eBay.  Wasn't it in Fullerton?  And it included an extra E1 engine and what looked to be a R16 (Datsun roadster) engine and a trans that I wasn't sure which it was.  And lots of parts and literature and a fairly nice interior IIRC.  Didn't it have a sunroof or was that just my imagination?

IMH,
Yeah, that was it and it does have a sunroof which is kind of a bummer, although it seems to be installed well, I dug into the brakes the other night and i took lots of pics. I should have snapped a better shot of the sunroof.

LilDat,
The bed looks good, there is a dent on the rear driver side but the cargo area is used but no rust out, just surface rust in the worn areas.

I have no idea if the pad is original,  I just went out to look at it and I think it was not, I think I have seen pedal kits for roadsters that had the three pads like are on my truck so maybe they are for a different datsun vehicle. The gas pedal pad kind of rides up over the bar which supports the pad itself so I doubt it is designed just for the 320 pedal.

My truck shows 0 mph with nobody in it but it does show that it's overheating when it's not running:).  320's also came stock with no gas pedal pad.

I have been driving it for about two weeks now.

I love it.

Collecting parts now to redo the king pins, they are loose.

I had to rebuild the clutch master and slave, still not disengaging clutch completely, the master had some shims between it and the firewall , I think I need to pull some out to get a little more travel.

The shifter it finicky, shifts great sometimes and stubborn others.

Burns oil, probably worn out in general but I may rebuild head to see if it helps.

Been trying to find a remanufactured J15, found a couple places on line but when I told them it was for a truck they got all weird, Haven't heard back from them.

check the factory manuals for the spec.....you'll have to ream the new kingpin bushings for the pin to fit.

I did a write up over a year ago when I did the 521....here's a link to the thread on nwde.....

hope it helps. :)

i still run with king pins. there not as bad as some people make them out to be. although one time i couldn't get the lock pin out (tappered bolt thing). i  noticed that it was easier to put the shims in first and tap the beaing in last rather than vise versa.

hey mike sorry i havent bought your 521 2mm hub shims yet. slow and lazy. too many projects going.
