I have purchased 19" MAK Sting wheels for my 1994 Q45.

http://www.makwheels.it/catalo...od=24

The 19 X 8 on the front are no problem.

The 19 X 9 on the rear, only have a 35 positive offset. I need at least a 55.

If I can't get a 55 offset, I may need to shorten the axles.

Has anyone ever shortened the axles on a Q45?

I am concerned about the safety due to the shift in the centre of gravity ect.

Regards

AGM

Seems like you will need to mount a 255/40-19 on front to achieve the minimum load carrying capacity required. Unfortunately, they are 1" too great in diameter relative to stock, so they may rub on even a stock ride height suspension. Tirerack (Michelin Pilot Sport) recommends a 9" rim width, with the range being 8.5" to 10".

The correct diameter 255/35-19 are almost 200 lbs. insufficient in capacity. The 285/30-19 show as having only 1477 lbs. capacity at a maximum inflation of 51 psi, so they are under specification also. If not a misprint, they would work on the rear.

How heavy are the rims? How strong? Might only be suitable for parade duty. With 17" or maybe 18", you should be able to acheive proper tire load carrying capacity.

Hope you kept your receipt....

The 10" wide rims that the JDM guys use with widebody kits are only possible through spacers and longer wheel studs, a stupid move IMO.

Shortening the axles may not help either - Looks like a lot of effort for minimal to no gain, AND a potentially fatal change in rear suspension geometry.

Why not go 18x8 all the way around?

The cheapest route would be to have the fenders rolled by a good body shop. You could also increase negative camber and watch your tires get destroyed.

Is the car lowered? If not, 35mm might work.

I test fitted 17 x 9.5 (offset of 36mm) w/ 255/45 kumho ecstas on my car. I had to adjust the camber a bit, but it was not excessive. My car is lowered with Eibachs.

So I would think that a 9" rim w/ 35 offset should be workable. The biggest factor is the width of the tire.

Thanks for the reply's guys.

I have decided not to touch the suspension, as it is far to dangerous. Potentially fatal.

If I can't get a 55mm ofset, I will just go 19 X 8 all the way around. I have a very big spare parts collection now.

While searching the Web, I came across the 'Wide' Body Kit be evolution.

I am thinking about adding the Fender Flares to my Impul Body Kit.

Does anyone know of any other fender flare kit available for the Q45.

Also, I will not have the negative camber as in this pic.

Hey AGM,

I LOVE Impul's grill for the 90-93's......I want one bad. However, when I last looked on their site it looked as if they wanted over 1.5k USD! Do you know if that is correct?

Thanks,

Andy

Also try ADMIRATION

They have 2 90-93 options and 1 94-96 option.

Fortunately the Japanese seem hell-bent on destroying their currency to keep their exports up. Loans there can be had at virtually zero interest. But the dollar must fall, and has been. Buy your body kits and Sonys soon!

About $2500 give or take, plus taxes, tariffs, shipping, etc.

That front spoiler could scoop-up loose marbles that car is so low. Must be no springs on that car.

Need4Speed,

I know Impul is very expensive as I bought the 1994 Body Kit.

The price on the 1990-1993 Grill could be right.

Get your local Japanese Speed shop to get you another quote.

Hope this helps.

There is also the Admiration Black or Silver Grill.
