Just a question for those of you with 19" rims, what the width of your rim? What the maximum width size that's safe to install?

I'm thinking about getting some 19 X 8.5...

any suggestions on tires sizes??

btw... those with aftermarket rims/wheels, how do you know how much PSI to put in??

Thanks

In general the consensus on the forums has been 19x8.5. I have 19x8.5 myself. Not sure if you could get much more under the wells.

I have 19x8, 235/35/19. If i had the choice again i would go 245/35/19 just to get a larger wheel guard from the tire. As far as the psi. It will be on the side of the tire.

245's look so perfect on 8.5" wide wheels. Now I don't mean to thread jack but what do you guys think about 235's on a set of 19x7.5's? Unfortunately I the stock was extremely limited everywhere on 5Zigen Hyper 5ZR wheels so I picked up a staggered set: 19x7.5 (front) and 19x8 (rear). What do you guys think, not a big thing?

C'mon...8.5's?

How about staggered 19x9x5 fronts and 19x10.5 rears Pro-kits are next.

Yeah.... Can't beat the look but without rolling the fenders or trying to find a wheel with a large enough offset to support such a wide rim you'll be rubbing all day on the pro-kit. I know it can be done but the wheel selection shrinks up when talking about these kinds of fitment, assuming one would try to keep the wheel from sticking out. I ideally I wanted 19x8.5 with a +40-45 offset but settled with the looks of the wheel I wanted over the stance.

The front rims are nicely tucked in the wheel well, and honestly was debating on whether or not to run a spacer to get them out a little further. No rubbing lock to lock either.I'm running 245's on the 9.5's and it's not really as stretched as I thought it would be.

The rears are 10.5's sporting 275's and again there's no rubbing....yet. The tires are completely flush with the fender. Gives it the widest most aggressive stance possible. The problem will be once it's lowered. I don't think an inch will hurt, and if anything the added negative camber will help. Fender trimming will be mandatory if I plan to attempt to tuck these bad boys at all. I'd say the 10.5's with a 255 would be ideal as it would stretch the tire into the wheel well.

We'll see. I'll post pics later.

The way you went about going wide seems pretty good. I remember once coming across a guy on here who had a wide wheel and a low offset pushing the tire (not the face of the rim) past the fender. I put a lot of thought into an extremely aggressive setup but in the end lost interest. Still love the look of wide wheels, rolled fenders, and barely tucked tires in lowered clean cars. Hope to see your final setup one day soon.

Curious as to what offset you're running on that 275…. I don't always look to rim width as much as where the offset puts the tire. I've noticed guys are fitting 245's nicely with 40+ offsets.

The coupe is my wifes car and she's already bitching about having to drive super careful with the 19's, soooo I think it's going back to stock so she can curb and ram into whatever she wants...I know...Blasphemy!

So, anyone want some staggered 19's? [email protected] for info.

Here are some more pix.

FLUSH with the wheel well!

*** shot

Rolling

She got a little dirty that day, but overall it looks sweeeeet I think.

They dont appear to be wider than mine... 8.5... idk... atleast from my pov... the prokit... rolling the fenders? why the stagger although it has no purpose? and im sure those rubbers are going to be a pretty penny.. no rotating those bad boys...

The staggered look, in my opinion, looks more aggressive and overall widens the car's look. Plus, I'm kinda a RWD kinda guy I guess and like staggered wheels. Tires are a kinda Bi-annual "maintenance" item for us here, so regardless of the size it's just something that needs to be replaced. Either way, the wife isn't keeping the wheels. I can just see her rashing them all to hell at her work....NOT HAPPENING!

Anyway, I'll lower it and throw the wheels back on and let you guys know how bad/good it goes. Regardless of wheels, this car needs a drop like you read about.

P.S. Her 6MT 3.5 was the very first one to ever be sold in the NorthEast

LongBeach, if I'm not mistaken don't you have a low offset and spacers pushing your wheels out just as far or am I thinking of someone else? I would think the stiff, tall stock suspension is the only thing keeping you from rubbing.

I have 38+ offset... and no spacers... Just 245/35/20s wrapped on a 20x8.5 Im on the eibachs with no rubbing... theres a slight camber adjustment that was unplanned and unexpected, but i think thats what has me clear!

What offsets are you running for front and rear?

OVRBST's A/C looks dope, but could use a lip on the trunk to make it less stock. http://www.stillen.com
