Mechanic told me I NEED new tires ASAP; treads almost gone and just got a flat already. OEMs have lasted me just about 3 years strong (yea, i milked every last tread on those firestones haha).

I really want the look of the 19's; either 255/35/19 or 245/40/19; (for both, wheels @ 19x9.5 +35 offset)
But I commute 5 days a week to work (60 miles roundtrip) and travel through some crappy roads/highways.

1)Will I be okay with 19's given the daily driving I do?

2) Would 18's be wiser? I was thinking 255/40/18 or 235/45/18; for both, wheels @ 18x8 +35 offset).

3) I may lower on hibachis. Will any given setups (18's or 19's) compromise rubbing/scraping/etc.? P.S. To make things more complicated, I have an LSD exhaust as seen below lol

ALWAYS 19's .. when i had mine the 18s and 19s dont have a huge ride quality diffrence but the wheel gap on the coupes are filled much better with a 19
the one question you wanna answer, rater than ride quality, is if you wanna be spending more for tires when the time comes. 19s are MUCH more expensive than 18s from what i found owning both.

I rode on 245/40/19 for 3 years throughout Northern NJ, I feel your pain. You will be OK with that set-up, just dont dive into any potholes on the GSP.

You can do either, but for the sake of suspension longevity, I would go 18s.

OK, Im just reading through this again from home and have to admit Im a little confused.

Your tires are bald, so you are considering purchasing new tires AND new wheels? Thats all well and dandy (I did the same when my OEMs were crapping), but just making sure you arent trying to put a 19" tire on an 18" wheel. Not saying you dont know what you are talking about, the post just reads funny?
How do you lower on a hibachi? Autocorrect get you?

Yea bro, we're getting a GB this weekend...hella flush. Gives you extra hp...fuego fire!!

On a serious note, thanks for the feedback everyone. DJbEasy, i commute from hudson to bergen county, sometimes newark (CRAPPIEST ROADS), so my car gets a beating.

im getting new tires bc theyre worn and new wheels since my oems look like someone took a hammar and went at them from my crappy, half awake paralell parking after overnight shifts.

I just want a chng also. What im really looking for in 19s is smooth ride; no aggressive setups here since its a DD. 18s would prob be more practical though.

Ordering 18s soon. Pics to come soon

Wouldn't ride quality depend heavily on the weight of the wheel/tire? Whatever Newton's law it is - the equal and opposite reaction one. The amount of sidewall matters as well, but an 18" 50lb wheel is goin to put as much force through your suspension as 19" 50lb wheel. I switch between the OEM 18" 235/45 and 19x8.5" 245/40 of equivalent weight and the ride feels the same. Car doesn't feel as quick with the 19", but the ride feels very similar. And the roads suck where I live and was concerned about this myself.

Admittedly, I'm new to all this and quite possibly don't know wtf I'm talking about.

For ride comfort sidewall is all what matters. I think 18s are too small for the altima coupe but some members here pulled off the 18s nicely and others... :tisk:

All depends on tire side wall - functionality vs stance

Ones in my sig are 18

lol 17X8 +25 (+35 with 10mm Ichiba spacers)

I was kidding though! I love my 17s, but I would love to get 18s! The only reason I don't have 18s is because the ones I like cost at least $2K! :tisk:

The ones in my sig are Rota IK-F, they're cheap, good quality and look good!
