Did a search and found no threads about people running 19's on a J but see that some people are in thier profiles.

I was looking at a certain wheel that shall remain unamed, and noticed that it also comes in 19x9.5 and 19x10.5. For not much more than the 18's and even to me the 18's look small, so ussal new wheel size questions any rubbing and how is the ride?

Thanks

All I know is if your's is a "t" model with HICAS your going to have to deactivate it to install anything above 16's.

I had 20s on my J30 no problems, besides a huge decrease in ride quality.

I would reccomend 18s, as I have now sold my 20s because of the ride quality issues...

Just for the record, the wheels I had were some of the best you can buy: Diablo Lionheart wheels, and Nitto 555 tires, cost around $2K.

Im thinking about Nismo LMGT4, if I get the 19s and when I do eventually get an F50 right on they go, yes I realise the 18's will work on the F50 but those beast donet rally look right until you get a 20 on them.

I like my stock J30t wheels. They only weigh 12 lbs each. Only 34 lbs WITH tires.

Hey, I have a 1994 j30t. I am now thinking of upgrading my wheels. I was interested in getting a staggered configuration.

18x8 with (245,35,18) in the front18x9 with (265,35,18) in the rear

I tried a couple of online wheel and tire packages but they just dont wana sell me the wheels saying I MUST go with 18x8's all around but I really wana get the staggered package. Its just $100 more. The reps tell me the tires will RUB!

I dont get how 18x9's wont fit the car as I see people on CAR domain having 20's and 22's???

Can anybody please help me with this so I can make a decission?

Here are the wheels I liked.

I really appreciate your help. I just need someone to tell me if the staggered sizes will fit 100% and then I can order. Also if they fit, would any mods be necessary or they'd just go on directly?

THanks

Hey, Do you know any good garages or cheap repair places in Toronto? I have a couple of leaks and my engine light has just started showing up occasionally but everything runs fine. I just want to have it checked before things get worse. The engine light only started showing after the car reached 210K. I bought it when it was at 174K kms.

Thanks

There is Nizztex(nizztex.com) out west (off of Keele) I think. They are a shop that specializes in the 300zx, they are very familiar with the J. They are busy in the spring and summer. Some people have had a good experience others bad.

The best Infiniti dealers in the city are Infiniti Yorkville-the garage is located 1 block north of Davenport on Avenue Road beside the VW/Audi/Porsche dealer. They've got some great "guru" type master mechanics there you have been with Infiniti since the early 90's and know cars like the J30 inside and out.

Infiniti Agincourt, McCowan North of the 401.

For repairs of a general nature, I would recommend Rainbow Garage/Auto Gallery in the 401/Port Union/Old Kingston Road area. They tend to service a lot of Nissans (especially 300zx's when the weather warms up-best to get an appointment, they are very busy garage). Excellent work at very reasonable rates.

Hey thanks a lot man. I really appreciate the information.

I am going to get an estimate from the Infiniti Yorkville. That place is like less than 1km from where I live.

I'll try the Rainbow garage as well, it sounds good.

THanks again, this was a great help.

Haha, Sure thing "Tyger"... Are these people at the Yorkville place or Rainbow?

By the way what do you suggest... What would be a better option. I mean I want good reliable work done on my car .. Dealers are always expensive as a rule of thumb but I know sometimes they are worth it too..

I just don't wana get ripped off.. lol.. do you think the dealership is a good place to start or should I avoid it and keep it as a last resort?

Matti and the oriental guy(name escapes me) are at Infiniti Yorkville. If you go there after 3 to get a quote the techs are very chatty (I guess it comes from a long day of working on cars with no human interaction) and will likely show you around the engine bay.

Here is the direction to Rainbow Garage (I'm assuming your taking the 401 east bound).

-Take the 401 eastbound to Port Union Road and exit.-Stay in your rightmost lane and make a right turn onto Old Kingston Road.-The first lights you hit is the beginning of Elsemere Rd. Stay on Old Kingston Rd.-Rainbow Garage is just passed the first lights. Right side just passed 401 auto collision in the next industrial park.-You will want to speak to Reda or one of his brothers. Very nice guy, but very, very busy. In most cases he can't take you the same day, he has 4 service bays and they are constantly busy. Its best to get an appointment.

I can't say anything bad about Infiniti Yorkville, I bought my J there and they have always treated me very well. Back when the car was just out of warranty they would charge things as if under warranty). If I'm working downtown, I still drop of my car there if I'm working in the downtown car. They have a few techs there who know the J30 inside out and if you profess an interest in auto mechanics they are glad to show you around. Both of the service advisors there are former techs and have worked on my J in the past.

Reda at Rainbow Garage isn't a Nissan service tech, however him and his brothers and employees are damn good mechanics with many, many years of experience (and honest to boot-that's why there garage is always busy). I believe Reda use to work for Mercedes and his brothers and employees are former long time dealer techs for Nissan, Honda, Jaguar and BMW, so there is a lot of inhouse mechanical knowledge.

All good DriverDriver..

Taking all this into consideration I think I'll go to Yorkville first (I will say hello to them from your side as well )

For the oil seal changes etc. I'll consider the Rainbow garage.

Thanks again man.. you've been an awesome help!

Hey.

I have found a good deal on these 17" rims. (I do have your comments about the HICAS in mind but hoping it will work fine or else I will have the infiniti guys deactivate it or I'll do it myself by pulling out the fuse).

I need suggestions on appropriate tire sizes.

The rims descriptions is as follows:17x8, so you can fit up to a 245 tire on them. +42mm offset, generally you can fit this on a car of up to +48mm offset or as low as +35mm. They are 5 bolt 114.3

Now I would like to go with a 245,40,17 on the REAR and 225,40,17 on the FRONT.

Do you think this combo would work?

Please advise.. Thanks

I took the car to Yorkville Service Centre today. I asked them twice if they knew you but he just said NO staight out! The oriental guy at the desk was Richard.

Oh well I tried. The Check Engine light was coming on because some Exhaust Solenoid was malfunctuning, it costs $88CD to replace that and 200 for labour.. I'm paying it this time but DAMN $300 is a lot for a little repair.. This is the last time I'm going to Yorkville..
