I recently saw a orange 240sx, silvia conversion and all this other stuff in a magazine. The one thing that really interested me was that he put 19" rims on it. Now he did have a special jdm suspension that i probably have no way of getting but is it possible to do with a set of coilovers and a 5lug? if so does anyone know where to look for the rims at.

And theres a point to putting 19 inch wheels on the 240, right? I really don't think it can be done on the stock suspension, lots of camber/rubbing problems (shi...my friend has camber problems with 17's...).

Do you plan to drive this car on the street? If so, don't get 19". There is just too much wheel and not enough tire. I promise you that you'll bend a rim. There just won't be any tire left if you do that.

Especially since a GOOD set of 19's and the tires you'll need (not those cheap-arse ones the sell as a package in the magazines) would be worth more than the car itself.

Plus it'll drive like crap. AND you think it's slow now? Just wait 'til you add 10 pounds of unsprung weight to each corner.

The TE37's where the exact rims that i wanted to get but only in 19" form. I saw them on a top secret skyline and it looked awesome. Thanks for the advice and does anyone know where i could get good price on a set of white TE37 18's and tires?

I put 19" Velox VX-5's on mine with stock suspension and have no problems. You just have to get the right offset. I got my set for $800 but that was a steal! Tires are outrageous, thats my only complaint. $250 a pop for Falcons but they last and grip like a fat kid grips his fried chicken. If you do get big wheels an allignment is a good idea about every other oil change or so. It'll save you money and give you ALOT better ride.

37 PAGES of info on google when you run "volk wheels" search.

"Standard color is white or bronze.Special colors are available from $30.00 per wheel.Optional center cap."

--taken from http://www.mackinindustries.com/te37.html. The parent company of the rays engineering volk TE37.

The size and offset chart on that page will answer all your questions...

We have never test fit any 19s on this car. You need to make sure the tire size you are using have at least 1157lbs of load capacity. I don't know of any 19 that will fit without rubbing that will work without heavy duty modification.

Thanks a lot grant for the advice. I guess i'll just have to get an escalade with 22's... like the rest of the united states. Anyway this is sorta scaring me away from getting even maybe 18 inch rims. Does anyone have 18's that could shed a little light on the subject?

Again, you're really pushing the envelope with 18's. Think about it - Why would 90% of the well-done 240's you see at shows and in magazines have 16's or 17's if bigger rims made sense?

Don't buy what MTV is selling. Check the classified ads and you'll see tons of "blingin" rims for sale. The morons that bought them as part of a "discounted" package with cheap-arse tires NOW are realizing the tires didn't last long, and replacement tires are beyond their budget. They're probably just trying to get enough out of them to pay off the credit card.

But they looked cool for a year. :rolleyes

the 240sx is way too small for 18s. Your car will look like an Amphibious assault vehicle. Try 17s they look big on an S13 and are just right for S14s. I would go with some high quality 15 inch wheels, much easier on the wallet.

Dude 17's look nice on the S13. I don't mind it, but I think 16's would give a much better ride. Oh well I'm looking for a set of 5-zigen fireballs in 17x7 anyways.

geesus, I cant belive I let this thread go this far without locking it. A few notes here:-Don't put a 19" wheel on a 240, you will be SHOT. by me. or repo. whoever is closest. It is both cost prohibitive, safety prohibitive, and slows down your car. If you want to make a "pimp" ride, or a "Show car" either get a bigger car, or some nice 18" wheels as a minimum.-Makin is NOT the parent company of volk. Ray's engineering is. Makin is just the exclusive US distributor, according to SCC.-If you're talking about doing 19" wheels and a 5-lug swap, you'll be spending well over 5,000 dollars if you do it correctly. add another 1200 for the silvia conversion, 800 for paint. WOW! 7k and the car is still slow!

EDIT: Please use the search button before opening another thread of this nature, its been discussed before. This is remaining locked. I appologise if it offends you.-chet
